With the arrival of the hot season, the desire for cool cocktails to sip at sunset, after a beautiful sunny day spent visiting the city... really makes itself felt.
And how can you resist? After all, it's one of the main pleasures of summer, isn't it? Friends gathered around a table, sunglasses, chatting, a rarefied, golden atmosphere that falls steeply on the ancient and evocative streets of central Florence, and then there it is... the king of aperitifs: an exquisite cocktail that accompanies us—along with a few appetizers—towards the evening meal.
And speaking of cocktails... what are your preferences? If, when it's your turn to order, you often find yourself undecided and end up "falling back" on the usual two or three safe choices, well... today we have an excellent suggestion for you.
And it's not us saying so, but our very own Daniele D'angelo, Maître d' and Sommelier at Palazzo Castri.

Drum roll, please. The cocktail we recommend this month is... flavored limoncello.
That's right, we take a few leaves and some zest from lemons grown in our own lemon grove—undoubtedly one of the most idyllic and enchanting corners of our boutique hotel in the heart of Florence—add a splash of soda, ice and Valdobbiadene prosecco superiore D.O.C.G from the Progettidivini winery, a company we have been working with for years, we obtain a simple, fresh cocktail that is also perfect as a pre-dinner drink to sip in good company.
A tip from the maître d':
Well, you know: what makes the difference – apart from the quality of the ingredients, which we don't doubt – is also the way a drink is served. Our flavored Limoncello, for example, is poured into a white wine glass, decorated with a spiral of lemon zest.
Our maître d' and sommelier, in fact, pours truly inimitable care and attention into the preparation and presentation of each cocktail.
