Beato Angelico: much more than an exhibition

If you happen to be in Florence in the coming weeks, we highly recommend paying a visit to Beato Angelico, the exhibition held at the prestigious Palazzo Strozzi and Museo di San Marco, which occupies the monumental part of the convent of the same name located in the heart of the city. This is an extraordinary cultural event celebrating the great 15th-century Florentine artist Beato Angelico (Guido di Piero, later Fra Giovanni da Fiesole, c. 1395-1455).

Beato...well worth a visit

The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, the Ministry of Culture - Regional Directorate of National Museums of Tuscany, and the Museum of San Marco, is the first major monographic exhibition dedicated to Beato Angelico in Florence in over seventy years. It offers a journey that highlights not only his painting but also his connections with spirituality, light, space, and perspective: characteristics that made him one of the 'masters of the Renaissance'. Among the works on display—more than 140 in total, including paintings, drawings, miniatures, and sculptures from international museums—are rare pieces and recent restorations that offer a truly unique insight into the artist. Being "at home" in Florence, a stay at our hotel offers you the ideal opportunity to include a visit without any complicated travel arrangements: Palazzo Strozzi is located in the city center and is just a few minutes' walk from our hotel. What's more, we have created a package that includes accommodation + tickets to the exhibition. To book: click here!

Florence and culture: an unmissable combination

The Beato Angelico exhibition can be a pleasant cultural interlude between a stroll through the streets of the historic center and an evening of relaxation. Why not take advantage of an afternoon visit to the museum (perhaps from 3:00 p.m. onwards) and round it off with dinner in the vicinity of Piazza della Signoria? Furthermore, the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to discover not only sacred and Renaissance painting, but also the history of Florence, its spirituality, and its role in European art: an added value that enriches the experience of your stay. We suggest you book your time slot as soon as possible (especially for Thursday evening, when the evening hours are extended), and, if you wish, we can assist you with the reservation. It is an invitation to treat yourself to a moment of contemplation and beauty—right in the center, a stone's throw from our hotel—to make your stay in Florence even more memorable.
