Florence
The Summer season is approaching and, with it, a full calendar of must-see events for tourists who choose to spend a few days in the Tuscan capital while staying at a hotel in downtown Florence like Palazzo Castri.
So let's try to outline an ideal travel proposal for the benefit of all our welcome guests, finding out what to do this Summer in Florence and how to best experience the city's beauty.
Fiesole Summer
Our proposal starts with the historic Estate Fiesolana, now in its 75th year.
From June 21st and running through Sept. 6th, the event is studded with concerts, theatre shows, dance evenings, readings, film showings, and many other opportunities for deepening one's cultural knowledge that will feature some of Italy's (from Paolo Fresu to Giovanni Allevi) and international (such as Tarja Turunen and Fantastic Negrito) excellences.
In short, an initiative which is worth keeping in mind as the highlight of your Summer 2022 in Florence with entertainment and culture!
MusArt Festival
Another welcome return is the MusArt Festival, scheduled from July 16th to July 26th, 2022. Organized in one of the best venues in Florence, just a few steps from the Duomo and, therefore, easily accessible from our hotel in downtown Florence, the event is enriched by performances by Roberto Bolle, LP, Achille Lauro, Vinicio Capossela, Goran Bregovic, Rock The Opera, Steve Hackett and Dado Moroni.
Parks and gardens
Florence is a city full of villas and freely accessible green spaces where you can find some respite from the Summer heat and enjoy the splendid views that the city can offer. From Villa Bardini to Parco delle Cascine, you are spoiled for choice. Moreover, some of these are within walking distance of our hotel in downtown Florence, so why not take advantage?
Museums
Florence's cultural heritage is well represented by the large number of museum facilities open for the benefit of tourists and locals who can admire some of the world's most beautiful masterpieces. Also, the option of being able to purchase the entrance ticket in advance is the ideal excuse for a visit to one of the destinations that make up Florence artistic attractions, from the Uffizi to Palazzo Pitti, via Palazzo Strozzi.
Field trip to Fiesole
And what about a nice trip to Fiesole? Close to Florence, it is a favorite spot for an outing. This Etruscan town enjoys an enviable panoramic hilltop location, providing all lucky visitors with an outstanding historical and natural heritage. A visit to the archaeological excavations and the Cathedral of St. Romulus is not to be missed. And, for those who still have some time to spare, a nice walk to Mount Ceceri, often used by Leonardo da Vinci for his flight experiments.
