A Florentine break for sportsmen and lovers of the firmament is what we want to offer you for a weekend or a stay in beautiful Florence, a June that will regenerate body and spirit, restarting with joy and dreams.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Margherita Hack, an astrophysicist of worldwide authority, born in Florence in 1922, whose life was dedicated to the stars but also to her passion for sports.
Margherita Hack, one of the most brilliant and influential minds on the scientific scene, not only contributed to new discoveries in the field of astrophysics but actively participated, with a liberal spirit and contributions, in the cultural debate on the great existential issues of the last century. A genius comparable perhaps only to Leonardo da Vinci.
From her book "Cycling among the stars," we learn that bicycle was the real passion of Margherita Hack, a cheerful and joyful Florentine girl. She used to do crazy rides on two wheels between Piazzale Michelangelo and the Arno, along the Tuscan countryside and constantly practiced even competitive sports, even when age and health would not allow her to do so. That is why we imagined a Florentine stay dedicated to those who, like her, shared these passions.
Florence on two wheels
June is the ideal month to think about planning a "two-wheeled" stay in a city of art. There are numerous bike tours that promote visiting Florence and also the surrounding hills (e.g., Fiesole) and that involve the use of electric bikes, especially when the route includes a ride out of town.
With organized tours you will find yourself pedalling through the historic center of Florence, passing the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Repubblica and seeing much more with greater freedom of movement than walking, being able to cover more distance in less time. In your company you will have a guide who will tell you about Florence and its monuments.
Lots of satisfaction also for those who like "outings" and therefore longer and more naturalistic tours. Organized tours depart from Florence to reach Fiesole using electric bikes, enjoying not only landscape and nature but, upon arrival, local wines and food.

The first is the hill of Bellosguardo, in southwest Florence, located on a small hill from which there is a view of the city away from the lights. The second is Pian dei Giullari, near Piazzale Michelangelo, on the opposite side of the Arno from the Uffizi Gallery. This panoramic terrace will offer your eyes a spectacular Florence by night.
