New Year's Eve 2025 in Florence: Music, Dance, and Magic in Five Squares

A magical night to celebrate the arrival of the new year. Florence transforms into a grand open-air stage with musical events and performances spread across five squares in the historic center. From Mr. Rain to Giovanni Caccamo, along with jazz, gospel, dance, and marching bands, Florence’s New Year’s Eve promises something for everyone.

The initiatives are promoted by the City of Florence in collaboration with the MUS.E Foundation and supported by Toscana Energia.

Piazza della Signoria

In the heart of Florence, Piazza della Signoria will host a New Year's Eve of music, organized by the City of Florence and curated by the MUS.E Foundation.

A Program for Children

Starting at 5:15 PM, children will be at the center of the festivities with Lorenzo Baglioni, magician Mattia Boschi, and ventriloquist Nicola Pesaresi. A mix of comedy and magic will entertain families in a dedicated space. The event will be hosted by presenter Benedetta Rossi.

Music and Performances

From 6:45 PM to 9 PM, the facade of Palazzo Vecchio will come alive with a spectacular video mapping display created by Stefano Fomasi, accompanying performances on the palace’s stage.

At 9 PM, artists from the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino will perform a repertoire ranging from opera classics by Rossini, Donizetti, and Puccini to Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” and iconic songs like “My Way” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”

The evening continues at 10:30 PM with performances by Deborah Iurato, Syria, and Giovanni Caccamo. At 11:30 PM, Mr. Rain, renowned for hits like “Supereroi,” will take the stage. After midnight, BowLand will close the evening with their sophisticated sound from 12:20 AM to 12:50 AM.

Piazza San Giovanni

The “Musart” Association presents Gospel Choirs, featuring two outstanding groups: “The Pilgrims,” representing contemporary Tuscan gospel, and “Lara Johnson & the Black Voices,” an extraordinary ensemble of six singers accompanied by a band (keyboard, bass, and drums). The event runs from 10 PM to 1 AM, offering an evening of engaging and international music.

Piazza Santissima Annunziata

In this historic square, the “Quelli del ‘29” Association presents Jazz in Lights, a unique experience combining the jazz of Nino Buonocore and saxophonist Max Ionata with spectacular light displays. The show runs from 10:45 PM to 12:30 AM.

Itinerant Performances in Oltrarno

The “Music Pool” Association brings music to the streets with Happy New Year on the Road. Two marching bands will animate Florence’s neighborhoods:

• Magicaboola Brass Band: performing in the streets of Santa Maria Novella with their funky sound.
• Zastava Orkestar: spreading Balkan and gypsy sounds in Oltrarno, with a stop at Piazza del Carmine for the midnight countdown.

The itinerant performances will take place from 10 PM to 1 AM.

Piazza Santa Croce

In Piazza Santa Croce, the Florence Chamber Orchestra Association presents New Year’s Eve 2025: Music, Dance, and Traditions. The National Symphony Orchestra “RadioTV Moldova” and the Florence Chamber Orchestra will perform a repertoire ranging from symphonic music to pop rock.

Adding to the evening, dancers from the Kinesis Dance Association will accompany the musical performances with choreography inspired by various styles, from tango to rock and roll. The event will take place from 10:45 PM to 1 AM.
