The Italian summer is, first and foremost, a way of being...a feeling. Deciding to spend this season of the year in Tuscany, for example, means going for hot days but with intense colors and scents, those golden and emerald shades of the countryside, mixed with the blue of sky and sea, that make our region one of the most unmistakable (and visited!) lands in the world.

Equally, the Tuscan capital, the Cradle of the Renaissance, in August is bathed in a very clear, terse light that makes it magical from the very first hours of the day when-not infrequently-walking through the city center and looking out over the Arno, one can already catch a glimpse of some keen rowers gliding on the river undisturbed in the silence of the place.
But Florence, in August, is certainly not one of those cities that dozes off and hangs the words "Come again in September!" on its doors. Far from it; it is precisely at the height of summer that our city teems with events, activities and exhibitions that can be visited until late in the evening.
