The title of this article may seem misleading or contradictory to you: how can we talk about slow tourism in the very busiest month (if only for us Italians, who have our usual working vacations clustered mainly in the very weeks of August) of the whole year?
Actually, there is no contradiction: all of Italy, and Tuscany in particular, offer the possibility of being discovered, savored, in a thousand different ways, and one should not be afraid of always finding queues and full restaurants everywhere.
With a pinch of good organization, the right advice and a healthy desire to explore, you can enjoy your August vacation, in Tuscany, always feeling unique, special and even "alone."
Slow Tourism: the allure of the hinterland
After putting down your luggage at Palazzo Castri, for example, rent a rental car and study possible itineraries well-our staff at the front desk will be happy to provide you with any information on the matter.
In the Florentine, Pisan, Arezzo and Sienese hinterlands, for example, numerous festivals and festivals are celebrated in August with which rich tables laden with delicacies and antique or second-hand markets are often associated.
Tuscany also is full of:

From the Pistoia Apennines, with the charming resorts of Abetone or Cutigliano, great for taking some shelter from the hotter days, to the wonderful, and also less popular, cities of art and culture such as Pistoia, Prato, and Arezzo.

Let yourself be enraptured by the many offerings provided by environmental guides and escorts in the area: follow the wind in the Florentine countryside, stop at an open winery to taste a fine glass of Chianti, venture with a rental car to the hinterlands of Siena or Pisa, before returning for the night in Florence.
It will be an August full of light and beauty.
